What is SDPS?

Sharepoint Deployment Planning Services

SharePoint Deployment Planning Services is a Microsoft funded service, delivered by experienced certified partners to plan an effective SharePoint deployment. Working with a pre-qualified Microsoft partner such as Business Agility, organisations are able to develop a customised SharePoint deployment plan for their specific business environment and assess the overall direction for deployment of this technology. While the length of the deployment planning engagement will be dependent on the organisation’s Software Assurance benefit level, the types of services delivered as listed below will depend on the length of the engagement:

  • A Strategy Briefing defines the vision for achieving technical and business goals and is part of all engagement types,
  • An Architectural Design Session introduces SharePoint technologies, solution and concepts and is added in a 3 Day engagement,
  • A Deployment Planning Session covers a specific SharePoint capability in depth and is added in a 5 Day engagement, and finally,
  • A Proof of Concept demonstrates the solution in the customer’s environment and is added in a 10 and 15 day engagement.

What is Software Assurance?

Microsoft Software Assurance is a maintenance program that organisations are able to select at the time of a software purchase. It can be used immediately and throughout the term of a licensing agreement and it provides a broad range of benefits, including exclusive technology, training, support, deployment services, rights to future upgrades or in this case, a funded SharePoint Deployment Service.

What are the benefits of SDPS?

The main benefit for engaging with SDPS is that the service is funded for organisations by Microsoft and delivered by Business Agility, a Gold Certified partner. This not only reduces project risk by engaging a SharePoint specialist but also lowers project cost by vastly reducing the amount of time spent on planning and execution. In addition:

  • SDPS offers an engagement that is customised for each customer, addressing their specific business or technical challenges.
  • SDPS enables customers to get more value out of their existing Software Assurance investment, and it's available to them at no additional cost.
