A strategic role working closely with our CEO and COO to lead our Insurance Practice, delivering strong commercial results through highly conscientious practice management, service delivery and team management.

The success of our Insurance Practice Manager will be measured by performance against practice revenue targets, achieving high utilisation rates and by effectively integrating into our business, leading by example.

Relevant Background

At least 2 years as Practice Manager, Head of Professional Services or similar for an IT Services company.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

  • Designing and promoting overall strategy for the Insurance Practice – industry trends, product direction, etc.
  • A “hands on” management style, working closely with delivery teams and leading by example, to ensure that the best solutions are identified and delivered.
  • Significant Project Management and software project delivery experience using Agile methodologies (SCRUM, DSDM, etc.).
  • Unfaltering pursuit of customer satisfaction; ensuring customer budgets and timescales are clearly communicated across delivery teams and customer expectations regularly exceeded.
  • Broad understanding of Insurance sector; GI essential and Specialty/London Market preferred.
  • Pro-active commitment to innovative software development, both with client projects, as well as internal software projects.
  • Identifying and collaborating with complimentary partners and technologies where relevant.
  • Recruitment, training and management of cross-discipline, highly technical Software Architecture, Design, Delivery and Support teams.

Scope and Objective:

This role provides an exciting opportunity as a client facing consultant who would like the opportunity to join a dynamic delivery team.

You will have sound Business Analysis skills, gained working within the insurance industry, an understanding of Policy Administration systems, the policy lifecycle and the claims lifecycle for Personal and Commercial lines of business.  In addition to this, prior people management experience is desirable.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • With minimal supervision, work with colleagues and end users to seek more effective business solutions and arrange their implementation through improvements in organisational arrangements, processes, systems, procedures and equipment.
  • Assist in the review of any underlying problems affecting the efficient production of services and contribute to identification of available options for consideration, together with a recommended course of action.
  • Define the business requirements to allow the development team to configure and customise applications to meet business goals.
  • Assist end users or testers with the construction and execution of acceptance tests for the system on behalf of users in a thorough and reliable manner.

We are looking for individuals with good Java and J2EE experience who would like the opportunity to receive training before joining a dynamic delivery team. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, architecture, design and programming skills, as well as client facing skills. Prior people management experience would be viewed favourably as well.

You must have successfully delivered several projects and have previous development experience:

  1. Using Java, JSP, JMS, JDBC, J2EE, XML, SQL, CSS, HTML, SQL and design patterns
  2. Consulting with insurance carrier in house technical resources to establish technical and business requirements
  3. Working with a variety of clients from varied business disciplines with different working styles

It would also be advantageous to have knowledge of:

We are looking for individuals with sound Business Analysis skills combined with a technical development background, gained working within the insurance industry. Suitable candidates should have Claims Administration system configuration or rules definition experience and understand the claims/policy lifecycle, from FNOL to settlement, quote through adjustments to renewals. Prior people management experience would be viewed favourably as well. We are looking for individuals with sound Business Analysis skills combined with a technical development background, gained working within the insurance industry. Suitable candidates should have Claims Administration system configuration or rules definition experience and understand the claims/policy lifecycle, from FNOL to settlement, quote through adjustments to renewals. Prior people management experience would be viewed favourably as well.

The configuration role requires a blend of technical ability and analysis (approx. 50:50). The candidate needs to be able to understand the requirements defined by the client and interpret these into working software. All our consultants are fully trained on the system and before joining and being supported by the delivery team on client site.

You must have successfully delivered several projects and have previous experience of:

  1. Partnering with client business teams to understand business objectives
  2. Developing an overall configuration approach for the client
  3. Producing requirement and functional design documents
  4. Estimating the effort required to configure the environment
  5. Configuring a Claim Administration system to solve customer business challenges
  6. Identifying opportunities to meet customer business objectives using business logic and configuring applications to meet those objectives
  7. Demonstrating developed features to the wider project team and key stakeholders
