Our team delivers business transformation through unrivalled technical expertise developing mission-critical, scalable applications. The Developer/Consultant roles will manage Java/J2EE application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle.

- researching the latest approaches to facilitate industry-disrupting transformational change
- unfalteringly applying the highest of standards which are absolutely essential in creating best of breed software suitable for the insurance industry
Requirements
Our ‘must have’ requirements are:
- Insurance industry software development experience
- Java development and JavaScript frameworks
- Hands-on experience designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
- Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
- Profound insight of Java and J2EE internals
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, MS-SQL (or Oracle) and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
- Experience in the Spring Framework (Core, Web Flow) and Spring Security
- JDBC and event handling in Spring
- Webservices Soap or Rest and Design patterns
- Experience with test-driven development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and a keen desire to learn
The following points are not essential requirements, but they are valuable. If you meet these criteria in addition to the list above, you will probably be one of our top candidates:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Adobe LiveCycle designer knowledge/experience
- Mobile App/Wearable application and WebPortal knowledge/experience
- Cloud platforms and technology knowledge (AWS/Azure)
- Web front end development framework knowledge (ReactJS/Angular)
- Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)
- Experience in Apache Camel, Apache Kafka, Talend and mule studio, CI/CD tools

When it is safe to do so, you will likely be working on client site as a member of the delivery team and should be comfortable living away from home Monday to Thursday, for engagements that are not commutable. When not on client site, you will normally be based from home.
